Presbyterian Women - Esther Circle

In January of 1999 we asked the women of the Gloversville church to join our group. They agreed and we now meet together on the first Thursday of every month, alternating between Broadalbin and Gloversville. Together, we continue to follow the Purpose of Presbyterian Women -

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit;
We commit ourselves to nurture our faith through Prayer and Bible Study,
To support the mission of the Church worldwide,
To work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that
Strengthens the Presbyterian Church USA and witnesses to the Promise of God's kingdom.

We continue with our Bible Study - this year it is "Old Songs for a New Millennium - a Study of Psalms." We held our 11st Annual Mother and Daughter Tea in May with a group from the Mohawk Valley Chorus called the "Sentimentalists" providing the entertainment. We also continue with our mission work:

- The making and giving of baby hats to Nathan Littauer Hospital
- Donation of personal items, baby needs, and bedding to the Family Violence Crisis Center of Fulton County
- Financial support to a Presbyterian Agency Support Group
- Support to the Birthday Fund and the Least Coin Fund

All women of the church are invited and encouraged to attend our meetings. Our February meeting will be in Gloversville.
