This year the Deacons held receptions following the funerals of Lorraine Stanton, Ronald DeJong, Myrabelle Argotsinger, and Tony Cleveland. In all instances the Deacons were assisted by others from the church.

We hosted a Baccalaureate reception for the Broadalbin High School Seniors and a special coffee hour in honor of Phyllis MacNeill.

The Deacons prepared numerous meals for those discharged from hospital stays and baby baskets for newborns. We provided Easter and Christmas plants for shut-ins and we continued to pack Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for needy families. This was done in conjunction with our Methodist and Catholic friends.

Communion was served to shut-ins throughout the year by Paul and various Deacons.

Our "card secretary", Iris Ross, has been very busy sending out numerous get-well, sympathy and other cards. Iris also made many scrapbooks for the infirmary, nursing homes, and hospital patients.

A "Deacon's Fund" envelope will be included in the Sunday bulletin on February 6 (Winter communion Sunday). You will be invited to share in the work of the Deacons with your contribution.

Thank you to all who donate food to the food pantry throughout the year. It is greatly appreciated. We request that the congregation notify a Deacon of anyone who is sick, would like a visit, or a meal sent in.
